VIP Board of Education Excellence Award
May 24, 2016
A total of 12 PWCS schools are being honored as part of a Virginia incentive program to recognize schools and school divisions for advanced learning and achievement.

Honored schools exceed minimum state and federal accountability standards and achieve excellence goals established by the governor and the Board of Education, based on achievement and performance during the 2014-15 school year.

Four PWCS schools that earned the Board of Education Excellence Award met all state and federal accountability benchmarks and made significant progress toward goals for student achievement and expanded education opportunities set by the board and governor.

Eight PWCS schools earned the Board of Education Distinguished Achievement Award, meeting all state and federal benchmarks and making progress toward the goals.

Congratulations to these Prince William County Public Schools for their outstanding achievement:

New 'Building Entry Procedures'
On Monday, May 9th, we will begin the implementation of our new AIPhone Access Control Entry System as initiated by Prince William County Schools. This new procedure will provide additional safety precautions and support to all our staff and students.
In order to correctly use this system, please review the following information and items needed to ensure entrance into the building.
  • On the brick wall to the left of the handicapped entrance, please notice a small device which has a built in button to push that will allow you verbal access to the front office staff.
  • Please be ready to speak your full name, show your current ID, and state the purpose of your visit.
  • Once your information is verified, the authorized staff will allow entry to the building.
  • Proceed directly to the front office as usual and present your ID again to sign in as either a visitor or volunteer.
Thank you for your patience as we implement this new process.

Pick-up/Drop Off Safety Reminders
Parents,
Please read the safety reminder for our morning and afternoon car-pool pick-up and drop-off. There have been recent concerns regarding cell-phone usage and other potential safety hazards during these times. We appreciate your help in assuring the safety of all our Bluejays on a daily basis.
